Winter Wedding in Dothan, Alabama
Katie + Collin / 1.31.2020
This past January tucked in the Southeast corner of sweet home Alabama, Katie and Collin held their long awaited wedding day. Magnolia Bay was the perfect venue. Right down the hall from each other, both of them excitedly prepared for the ceremony. Collin and his boys received fresh hair cuts from a favored barber and friend of Collin’s, while Katie and her girls enjoyed each others company as they got ready. The weather was pretty gloomy most of the day, but that had no affect on the bright smiles that filled everyones faces for their beloved pals.
After lots of waiting and anxious emotions, it was time for the ceremony. Held within the walls of Magnolia Bay venue, Collin took his place at the end of the aisle and it wasn’t long before tears started to make an appearance in friends’ and families’ eyes as they watched the groom eagerly await his bride. The music changed, the audience stood, the doors swung open, and Collin’s heart dropped at the first sight of his breath-taking bride clothed in white. Although this moment was a huge highlight of the entire day, the best part of this ceremony wasn’t until the end. Right before they kissed and were pronounced husband and wife, Katie and Collin’s family gathered together around, laid hands, and prayed silent and soft prayers over the couple’s future together.
Following the ceremony, the newly married couple and bridal party went outside for some fun group shots, then we snuck the couple away for photos of just the two of them. Blue hour was showing out for us and we spent a lot of time on a bridge crossing a creek with lights strung above. It was the coolest thing to spend the first several minutes of the beginning of their marriage with them, and just give them a space away from the crowd to be alone and filled with so much joy.
Collin and Katie are every aspect of a perfect match. I couldn’t have hand picked a better God-fearing woman for my friend Collin, and I know Katie’s closest people are so thankful for Collin and how his first love is the Lord. This day is one that will forever stick with me as one that was full of love and support, but most of all, it was full of Jesus.
