Dalton, Georgia October Wedding
Nicole + Garrette / 10.5.2019
Sometimes you meet people that you never feel like a stranger with and that’s exactly how Nicole and Garrette are. From the very beginning of talking to Nicole via email, I instantly connected with her and couldn’t wait to meet in person and get to know her and Garrett better.
These two met on a mission trip in 2018 at Lake Tahoe. Nicole was the only student from Colorado while Garrette was the only one from Georgia. This was the reason they initially started hanging out so much, but they quickly fell for each other and were engaged less than a year later.
Their wedding day was held in Dalton, Georgia at the most beautiful venue tucked in the North Georgia mountains. It was the first weekend in October and the essence of fall was in the air. The couple chose to wait to see each other for the first time on the wedding day to be when Nicole was walking down the aisle with both parents on either side of her. Late in the afternoon, family and friends began pouring into the ceremony location held at the bottom of a hill in front of a lake. When the violins started playing and the audience stood, I think chills went down everyone’s back when they witnessed the couple lock eyes for the very first time on their wedding day. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile overtake someones face quite as much as it did on Garrette’s in this moment.
A few moments later, the couple was finally announced as Mr. and Mrs. Roff! We took the couple away to spend some alone time together and found a beautiful spot next to a fence on the top of what would be a mountain to people used to flat land. The best help I could give these two during their couple photos was to be absolutely silent. They naturally smiled, laughed, and cuddled up next to one another as excitement to be officially married overtook them.
The rest of the night was filled with lots and lots of dancing, cake, donuts, and sweet interactions with loved ones. A personal favorite part was the dance off that broke out between bridal parties and the parents of the bride and groom.
These two absolutely radiate kindness and love and never fail to give credit to our Father above. I’m so thankful to have met these friends that never felt like strangers. Cheers to nearly a year of marriage for Mr. and Mrs. Roff!
