Rainy Engagement Session in an Open Field

Laura + Connor / 6.6.2020

These middle school crushes turned high school sweet hearts and then long distance lovers during college are finally planning their wedding for November 2020, and guys, I’m not exaggerating when I say that all of Thomasville has been waiting for this day to come. Laura and I experienced a lot of life together in our late middle school and all of high school years. Her and Connor are who lead our church’s youth group throughout high school, and then Laura and I played soccer together for several years and eventually became two of the three team captains during senior year. I think we would both agree that we were around each other for some of the most exciting moments in our teenage years, so when Laura came to me about photographing hers and Connor’s wedding and engagement session, I basically wept of joy.

When the day came for our engagement session, the forecast wasn’t looking very promising for either of us. It was raining pretty much all day and didn’t look like it was going to let up during our time together, but we persisted and boy am I glad that we didn’t let the weather win.

We took advantage of the rain and ran, danced, and sang in it. I can’t wait to see these life long lovers become husband and wife and get to spend every day beside each other’s side, say good night and good morning together in their new home, rather than over the phone.
