Cozy Home Couple Session in Dallas, Georgia

Anneliese & Ben / 6.28.2020

Anneliese wanted to celebrate hers and Ben’s five year anniversary of marriage a little bit differently, and what better way than to capture them where they are most comfortable and where they spend most of their married life together? I’d say there’s no better place than at their home with their furry kids.

When planning epic session together, Anneliese filled me in on some of hers and Ben’s normal routine and gave me ideas of how we can best tell their story visually. They absolutely love enjoying coffee or tea together while lounging around in their bed room or living room while playing record music. My favorite detail she gave that we incorporated was how Ben reads to her until she falls asleep on nights that her anxiety feels like too much.

A moment that stuck out to me the most wasn’t talked about or planned. About halfway through our time together, I suggested we play the song they did their first dance to, and so Moon River began to play. It took me a couple moments to notice, but the lyrics of this song filling the home brought both Anneliese and Ben to tears as they remembered their wedding 5 years ago.

Honestly, I’ve always loved the idea of “at home” sessions but had never done one prior to this. Anneliese and Ben and their Pinterest-worthy home made this first “at home” session more than I could have ever expected or asked for. They are simple, genuine, and truly such incredible people. I hope to have their kind of love even after 5 years of dating and 5 years of marriage.
