Thomasville, Georgia Historic Train Depot Wedding
Abby + Nate / 8.1.2020
Abby and Nate decided to conquer the strain that COVID-19 was putting on their wedding day by hosting an intimate ceremony and reception for family in the historic nook of Thomasville, Georgia. What is now known as “SASS! Restaurant” was once a historic train station that has been impressively preserved.
The day began early in the morning at a charming Airbnb on the other side of town where Abby and her bridesmaids got ready. In anticipation to see her groom, Abby worried what her groom would think because he had never before seen his girl so dolled up. I think at one point she even had a bridesmaid text Nate to set his expectations up accordingly, hahah. There was no way to accurately prepare him though. A few hours later under a patch of mossy oaks, Nate was left in complete awe at the sight of his utterly breath-taking bride.
I felt like I could have spent the entire day with just these two, but we had a wedding to get to. We quickly loaded up and headed to the venue where their wedding party and family anxiously waited. Something that I’ve seen a few times that will never get old is having a father of the couple officiate the ceremony. Nate’s dad spoke the sweetest words about Abby and Nate, and shared the meaning of marriage with the guests in a way that was truly heart-reaching.
Possibly my favorite moment of this day was the first dance between the newly married couple. Abby filled me in on what song they would be dancing to prior to the wedding, and it’s one my favorite worship songs by the awesome Shane and Shane. I kind of knew ahead of time that this would be my favorite moment, but I, nor anyone else, was quite ready to witness Abby and Nate joyfully sing these words of praise together as their first dance.
This couple, Mr. and Mrs. Lindquist, are truly something special. At the end of the wedding day, I couldn’t help but feel truly overwhelmed by the amount of kindness and genuine love that was outpoured. It’s not often that I remember a wedding day by anything but how great the couple is, but this wedding day will forever be remembered by how loving, gentle, and happy not just the couple was, but their giant family was as well.
